Strange Doors

  If I could come
into your world
and leave my world
behind,
maybe I'd discover why
people act the way they do
and never seem to mind
treating you and others
like you
with hate
contempt
and spite,
refusing to admit they're
wrong
or that you might be
right.
But I can't come
into your world
and leave my world
behind,
but at least the
door is open
and I can see
inside.
